The 5010 has always been more capable than many expected but with the traction-gaining 29-inch wheel up front and even more refined suspension, the 5010 gives you a deft touch on the trails. Design Details: - VPP™ VPP™ suspension can be optimized to strike the right balance between pedaling efficiency and all-out bump-chomping prowess. That means wherever you see "VPP™" you know it's tuned to perform exactly how it should for the purpose it's designed for. - 130mm VPP™ travel Some call it short travel, others call it all the travel you'll need. This much travel isn't going to help shrug off the biggest, fastest rock gardens like a V10 downhill race bike, but it's going to feel like you've got a V10 under the hood of your motor when it comes to freeway freestyling miles. - Traction and big hits For 5010, we wanted to balance support and grip to maximize the bike’s descending and big-hitting capability. We started with a significantly less anti-squat (than the previous generation 5010) to provide sensitive, ground-tracking qualities and reduced pedal kick. - Support and playfulness We gave the 5010 a very straight, highly progressive leverage curve to give the rider plenty of predictable support, bottom-out resistance, and playful response. This means the travel is accessible and higher impacts aren’t as jarring as you’d expect from a short-travel bike.

A Fair Advantage We tapped into everything we’ve learned from years of making the highest quality carbon full-suspension bikes and added the super-efficient Superlight™ suspension to make a World Cup-winning XC race bike. The Blur isn’t guaranteed to make you a race winner but being the lightest, full-suspension carbon XC bike we’ve ever made, it might be the difference between claiming first place...or just crossing the line. XC or TR The TR builds feature more travel (115mm rear, 120mm front) slightly beefier tires (Maxxis Rekon), a full height adjust dropper post, no lockout remote, and larger brake rotors. It's not a trail bike, it's a XC bike for certain courses. Light Carbon Frame The full-suspension Blur is lighter than most pre-race dinners you'll eat - 289g saving over previous generation. Reserve 28 XC wheels This is the lightest Reserve MTB rim (385g or 1367g complete). The rim bed is shallower and wider, meant for the newer generation of higher volume XC tires which are popular with elite racers. Geo to match The Blur's chainstay length is matched to frame size so every rider, no matter their height, gets the same balanced geometry and bike fit. Two water bottles Two water bottle mounts within the front triangle mean there's enough juice (or whatever electrolytes you choose) to keep the engine running. No proprietary gubbins There's no fiddly proprietary parts that could leave you stranded in a Cape Epic or Breck Epic campsite. Do Everything, and Do It Better The new Switchblade has a slacker head angle, steeper seat angle, increased reach and a longer wheelbase than its predecessor. Size-specific chainstays are tucked in and responsive but grow incrementally longer on larger frames. This translates to added stability at warp speeds while still maintaining the snap and pop that is ingrained in the Switchblade’s DNA. From Trail to Park The new Switchblade is light enough to pedal all day, but stout enough to run a Fox 38 without any worries.
